Ratcliff (often spelled Ratcliffe) is a historic district/locality on the Thames that lay chiefly within the ancient parish of Stepney (Middlesex); it was never a civil parish in its own right, and its name persisted while the county designation changed to the County of London in 1889 and to Greater London in 1965.
