Birth*Esther Helen Appel was born on 31 December 1918 in Miango, Jos Plateau, NigeriaG. Her birth probably took place at the Sudan Interior Mission's sanatorium / rest home at a site called Kla, which functioned as the housing base for SIM personnel working the Miango–Irigwe/Bace area on the Jos Plateau. Today that area is called the Miango Rest Home.1,2
