| His obituary appeared in the 18 April 1973 Concord Monitor of Concord, New Hampshire and read as follows:
Donald H. Norris, 62, of 25 Stevens Drive, died this morning in the McKerley Nursing Home. Born in Melrose, Mass., he lived here since 1950. He leaves a daughter, Marcia C. Stickney of Concord; a son, David W. Norris of Penacook; seven grandchildren; and two brothers, James T. Norris of South Wellesley, Mass. and Kenneth R. Norris of Melrose. Graveside services will be held Friday at 3 p.m. in Blossom Hill Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The Boutwell Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.5 |

| When they were married in Feb 1939 Kenneth was a teacher living at 68 East Main Street in Clinton, Conn. and Ruth was living at 437 Puritan Road in Swampscott. A story about their wedding appeared in the Daily Item of Lynn on 6 Mar 1939, p.6 and read as follows: "Included among recent weddings was that of Miss Ruth Dodge, daughter of Mrs. Edna L. Dodge and the late Chester E. Dodge, formerly of Durham, N. H., and Kenneth Ricker Norris of Clinton, Conn., son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter A. T. Norris of Melrose, which took place Sunday, Feb. 26, at the residence of Dr. and Mrs. Gustavus J. Esselen of Swampseott, cousin of the bride's mother, Rev. Richard Belcher, pastor of the Methodist church, in Brockton, officiated. Dr. Esseleen gave the bride in marriage. For her wedding, Miss Dodge wore a princess gown of white slipper satin and a finger tip veil of tulle caught to a coronet of rose point lace, trimmed with real orange blossoms. She was attended by Mrs. Jere Chase of Franconia, N. H., and Miss Frances Ham of Durham, N.H, Donald H. Norris of Melrose Highlands, brother of the bridegroom served as best man. Mr. and Mrs. Norris were both graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1937, and have many friends in Greater Lynn. Following a wedding trip, they will make their home in Clinton, Conn., where Mr. Norris is a member of the faculty at the Morgan school." <>
In Oct 1940 when he filled out his World War 2 draft registration card he was living and working at the McDonogh School in Owings Mills, Maryland. He was described as being 5' 10" tall weighing 187 pounds with blue eyes, blonde hair and a light complexion.
By June of 1943 when their son Steven was born they were back in Melrose living at 41 Sears Avenue and Kenneth was still a teacher. When the 1950 census was taken he was living in his widowed father's house at 136 East Foster Street in Melrose, Mass. and working as a guidance teacher for the city. By Nov of 1952 when their third and final child John was born they were back at 101 Perkins Street. Kenneth worked as a teacher.
When his father died in Jun 1957 Kenneth was the informant on the death certificate and his address at the time was 101 Perkins Street.
When Ruth died in Apr 1981 they were living at 448 Swains Pond Avenue in Melrose. When Kenneth died in Oct 1990 he was at the same address. His death record said he had been the assistant principal of Melrose High School. |

Kenneth Norris, 76 Melrose teacher, administrator Kenneth R. Norris, a teacher and administrator of Melrose High School for 34 years who served as chairman of the Melrose School Committee from 1979-81, died Monday in Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. He was 76 and a lifelong resident of Melrose. Mr. Norris joined Melrose High in 1942 as an English and social studies teacher. He served as assistant principal from 1957 until his retirement in 1976. He played a leading role in establishing the Melrose High School Permanent Scholarship Fund in 1961 and was the founding director of the Melrose summer school program in 1960-67. In 1977 he was elected to a 4-year term on the city's school board. Mr. Norris graduated from Melrose High in 1932 and University of New Hampshire in 1937. He received a master's degree in education at Boston University in 1959. He leaves three sons, K. Scott of Plainfield, N.J., Steven D. of Brookline and John R. of South Boston; seven grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. A memorial service will be held tomorrow at 11:30 a.m. in First Congregational Church, Melrose.4 |

James T. (Trueworthy) Norris, Jr., 82 of Peterborough, NH passed away peacefully at home on September 29, 2019. He was born in Melrose, MA on January 2, 1937, the son of James T. Norris, Sr. and Eleanor S. Norris. He was a graduate of Vermont Academy and Clarkson University where he was a member of Lambda Iota Fraternity. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps with rank of 1st Lieutenant. The Norris family chose North Reading, Massachusetts as home for the following 55 years. Following active duty in the Marine Corps, James worked as an executive at Jordan Marsh, Lechmere Sales and later for Christian Book Distributors. He was President of the Friends of Austin Preparatory School and Austin Athletic Association. His passion in life was carving decoys and woodworking. He enjoyed spending summers on Lake Winnipesaukee surrounded by family. He was an avid fisherman, voracious reader of books and novels about history and the military and enjoyed boating, snow skiing, and smoking his pipe. He was an ardent Boston sports fan and loved watching the Bruins, New England Patriots, NH Chronicle and This Old House. He had a very easy going personality, lived life to its fullest, was very organized, detail oriented, and very much a gentleman. He dearly missed his wife of fifty five years, Mary Norris nee Roux who passed away unexpectedly on December 22, 2015. They were soulmates and best friends that were rarely apart in all aspects of life. James is survived by loving sons, James T. Norris III and his wife Jeany of New Boston, NH, Michael R. Norris and his wife Tara of Greenwich, CT and Christopher T. Norris and his wife Nancy of Cohasset MA; grandchildren, Jack, Shea, and Benjamin Norris. He was the brother of Nancy N. Simonds of Chesterville ME. Burial will be private at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Dover, NH and there will be no funeral mass offered. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in James’ memory to: Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS.5 |

Lighted candles and white gladioli decorated the altar of St. Paul's Episcopal Church at Concord, N. H. for the marriage of Miss Marcia Garland Norris to William A. Stickney on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 15. The Rev. Clinton Morrill, rector, officiated at the double ring service and a reception followed at the Millville Community House. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald H. Norris of Concord, formerly of this city, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Stickney also of Concord. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a traditional wedding gown of embroidered chantilly lace over white satin with long pointed sleeves and a high round neckline. Her fingertip veil was caught to a cap of lace and seed pearls and she carried a cascade bouquet of white shattered carnations. Miss Barbara Mount of Concord, N. H., a classmate of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a waltz length gown of shrimp crystalette with a matching picture hat and carried a colonial bouquet. The bridesmaids in gowns of nile green crystalette were Miss Jean Cragin, a cousin of the bride from Medford and Miss Betty Palmer of Concord, N. H., also a classmate of the bride. They also carried colonial bouquets. William R. Solitro of Worcester was Mr. Stickney's best man and the ushers were: David Norris, brother of the bride, Robert Sanderson of Wolfeboro, N. H. and Richard Bailey of Concord, N. H. Miss Lois Stickney, sister of the bridegroom, was in charge of the guest book and another sister, Mary, assisted the maid of honor in serving the bride's cake. For her daughter's wedding Mrs. Norris wore blue crystalette with matching accessories and her corsage was of yellow button chrysanthemums. The bridegroom's mother wore pink lace over gray taffeta and her corsage was of pink button chrysanthemums.After a wedding trip to Washington, D. C. Mr. and Mrs. Stickney will reside in Wickford, R. I. For her going away costume Mrs. Stickney wore a grey tweed suit with soft blue accessories. and read as follows.5 |
