When they were married in Nov 1845 both Lydia and Levi were living in Lee. They were probably living in Madbury, NH in Oct 1853 when they had a son Edwin born there. They also had a son George born in Lee around 1844 who married in Raymond in 1863 his first cousin Emeline Durgin, daughter of Eben Durgin and Emeline York.

Birth*Jonathan C. or G. York was born circa 1793 in Newmarket, Rockingham County, New HampshireG.1
Death*He died of pulmonary consumption on 12 May 1843 in Gilmanton, Belknap County, New HampshireG.2
Burial*He was buried in the Smith Meeting House Cemetery in Gilmanton.3
There is no proof whatsoever that this Jonathan is the son of the Jonathan and Mary York to which he is attached here. The only basis for this is the fact that Harriet York, who is attached as a sister here, was supposedly born in Gilmanton around 1809 to Jonathan and Mary York. Given that our Jonathan was born around 1793 according to his gravestone he couldn't be the father of Harriet, so we will take a wild guess and say that he was her brother. He might also be a son of Daniel York who was early at Gilmanton himself, though not as early as the senior Jonathan. One possible argument for his father being Daniel is the fact that on the death record of one of the younger Jonathan's daughters it said her father was born in Newmarket, and Daniel had associations with Newmarket. For now he will be left as a son of Jonathan just to hold his place in the genealogy.

Several ancestry.com family trees as well as the Family Search family tree say he is the so of Robert and Jenna/Jane (Gilchrest) York of Durham, Maine. Given the distance from there to either Newmarket or Gilmanton this seems like erroneous informaiton, especially given that no sources are ever stated. It seems to come from the fact that Jonathan is also given the middle name of Gilchrest in many of these trees. I have no discovered where that middle name comes from either. It could be that one careless person put up that information online years ago and people have just been copying it ever since. It is noted here but is not going to be used unless other information comes to light.

His family was enumerated in the 1830 census of Gilmanton with 1 male under 5, 2 males 5-9, 1 male 30-39, 2 females 10-14, and 1 female 30-39. This sounds like a couple who had been married for around a dozen years.

There is no proof that he is son of Jonathan and Betsey, but they were having children in Gilmanton around that time and other members of the family are buried in the same cemetery. It would be worth checking the layout of the stones in the cemetery to see if he is next to one of the other family members.
